Hi, I’m Brittany (she/her). I’m originally from the small town of Guysborough, Nova Scotia. I received a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in English from St. Francis Xavier University in 2012. Shortly after finishing my degree I discovered the field of Recreation Therapy. I went on to complete my Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation at Dalhousie University graduating in 2018 and became certified as a CTRS in July 2019. I’m currently working part-time as a Recreation Therapist on the SCI/Neuro unit at the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation & Arthritis Centre and part-time as a Recreation Therapist with the Therapeutic Assistant Consult Service at Dartmouth General Hospital. In my leisure time I enjoy reading, playing board games, searching for beach glass, curling, playing guitar, camping, and going on adventures with my wife. I’ve been involved with NSTRA in various roles over the years and I’m passionate about growing the field of Recreation Therapy in Nova Scotia. I’m grateful for the opportunity to sit on the Board of Directors as President this year.
